Grover Samuel “Sammy” Lane Jr. – Duffield, VA.

Grover Samuel (Sammy) Lane Jr. 80, Duffield, VA. Passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at Ridgecrest Nursing Home in Duffield, VA.

Sammy was born on January 6, 1945, to the late Grover Samuel Lane, Sr. and Pearl Mae Herron Lane.

He served in the United States Army for 3 years in Korea.

He worked for and retired from Appalachian Tire, Norton, VA with over 40 years of service.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Mary Ruth Henderson and a brother, Jackey Clayton Lane preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Ina Beatrice Hammond Lane; sons, Anthony Steven Lane, Rickey Dale Lane and wife, Crystal; one sister, Joann Lane Henry and brother James Edward Lane; sister-in-law, Stella Lane; one granddaughter, Kiersten Jaylyn; along with several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 11-1pm in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1p.m. with Brother D. J. Couch officiating.

Military graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virgina Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
