Carlos Allen Griffin, 79, of Gate City, VA passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his residence.

Carlos was born in Scott County, VA on June 30, 1940 to the late George Clyde Griffin and Elsie May (Flanary) Griffin.

In addition to his parents; his son, Jason Griffin; sister, Janice Gibson; brothers, Dee Griffin, Elwood Griffin, and Glen Griffin preceded him in death.

Carlos loved his family and friends especially his wife. He was a fan of football and loved the Tennessee Vols.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years, Jane Griffin, Gate City, VA; daughters, Regina Diets and boyfriend Dennis Baldwin, Duffield, VA, Jennifer Duncan and husband Ricky, Gate City, VA; sister, Marie Burke, Gate City, VA; brothers, Gene Griffin and wife Sally, Kingsport, TN, Dewey Griffin and wife Inece, Gate City, VA, Kenny Griffin and wife Cosby Marie, Weber City, VA; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends J.C. Stewart, Junior Sturgill, Michael Palmer, Melvin Otte; his special baby dog, TJ.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Gate City Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Mike Owens officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., at the Hensley Cemetery in Spears Ferry, Scott County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
