Dungannon, VA – Alice "Lucille" Greear, 87, entered into rest March 19, 2009 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Scott County, VA February 7, 1922 to the late Hobart M. Ramey and Nannie Ramsey Ramey.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emit Carter Greear and her son, George Carter Greear.
Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Blevins, Dungannon, VA, June Greear, Greensboro, NC, Charlotte Osborne and husband, Joe, Dungannon, VA; son, Roger Greear, Dungannon, VA; sister, Frankie Beard, Dungannon, VA; brother, A.J. Ramey and wife, Louise, Richmond, VA; eight grandchildren, Janet Mabee, Dwayne Blevins, Steve Greear, Michelle Wallace, Shannon Greear, Scott Greear, Collette Schmidt and Brooke Osborne; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Ministers Kelly Pierson and Jud Carter officiating. Music will be provided by John Proffitt.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Beard, Doug Taylor, Buddy Beavers and Larry Beavers.
