Gladys Irene Good, 86, Duffield, VA crossed over to her eternal Home and many, many rewards on Saturday, December 5, 2015.
Gladys was born in Scott County, VA on November 28, 1929. She was the daughter of the late James Dewey and Esta Mae Rhoton Good.
As a teen, Gladys started work at the Kingsport Press and continued to work hard all of her life. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and loved going to church. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family, entertaining at Christmas, gardening, working in her flowers, and the company of her little puppy dogs.
She was a kind and gentle soul to everyone she met and loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, Clyde Earl Good and Cleo Good; and her baby sister preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother, Emmit Good and wife, Dale, Duffield, VA; nephews, Scott Good and wife, Debbie, Blountville, TN, Wayne Good and wife, Robin, Duffield, VA, Keith Goode and wife, Sherry, Duffield, VA, and Jeff Goode and wife, Robin, Church Hill, TN; nieces, Donna Jones, Kingsport, TN, Jami Ervin and husband, Michael, Kingsport, TN, and Teresa Spivey and husband, Mickey, Kingsport, TN; and a whole host of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Mike Ervin and Bro. Bill Tignor officiating. Mike and Dottie Lane will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Goode Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Wayne Good, Larry Wampler, and David Wampler will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
