Faye Gilliam – Gate City, VA
Virgie Faye Joyner Gilliam, 86, Daniel Boone community of Gate City, VA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Faye was born in Scott County, VA on March 9, 1927.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Eugene Gilliam, Sr., brothers, Leroy Joyner and Ed Joyner and sister, Nancy Carter.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Evans, Kingsport, TN; sons, Tom Gilliam and wife, Sue, Gate City, VA, Frank E. Gilliam, Jr. and wife, Juanita, Kingsport, TN, Larry Gillian and wife, Doris, Kingsport, TN, Johnny Gilliam and wife, Eunice, Gate City, VA, and Mike Gilliam, Gate City, VA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with James Mauk and Jerry Hensley officiating. Eulogy will be given by Frank E. Gilliam, Jr. Debbie Greene and Patsy Hensley will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Gilliam Family Cemetery, Daniel Boone community. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
