Mary Golden. Gilliam, 96, of Duffield, VA passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at her residence.
Mary was born in Lee County, VA on May 10, 1923 to the late Bradley Harber and Ailey Wallace Harber.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Jessee Gilliam, two sons, two sisters, and a son-in-law.
She is survived by her son, Richard Gilliam, Duffield, VA; daughter, Wilma Barnett, Duffield, VA; sister, Louise Howard, Roanoke, VA; special daughter-in-law, Judy Gilliam, Gate City, VA; few nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Alice Rodgers, Mountain Region Home Health and Hospice for their care during this difficult time.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Gate City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Kevin Vincent officiating. Kaylors Chapel Quartet will be providing the music.
Graveside services will follow at the Adams Cemetery, Duffield, VA.
Walter Burke, Harold Burke, Sam Pierson, Jerry “Hodge” Shephard, Dewayne Jimmy, and Russell Darnell will serve as pallbearers.
