Etta Mae Gillenwater, 93, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Tuesday (May 24, 2016) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Preceded in death by her husband, George C. (GC) Gillenwater, infant son, Gary Lee Gillenwater; and grandson, Brandon Booker.
Born in Scott County, VA on May 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William Marshall and Tennie Brunner.
Surviving are her daughters, Ruth L. Roberts, of the home, Jean Richards, Greeneville, TN, Phyllis and Charlie Williams, Athens, TN, and Faye and Mack Hall, Kingsport, TN; son, Glenn Carl Gillenwater, of the home; grandchildren, Kelley Richards, Kathy Myers, Shanda Wade, and Lisa Richards; great grandchildren, Hope Myers, Logan Wade, Logan Richards, and Tyler Myers; special niece, Betty Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Jeff Quillen.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Paul Blessing officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA, 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2016. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
