Mr. Billy Cecil Gillenwater, 81, Dungannon, VA passed away, Wednesday July 10, 2013 at Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap, VA.
Mr. Gillenwater was born in Scott County, VA on February 24, 1932 to the late Lorin Rayder and Lois Lavine Kaylor Gillenwater.
In addition to his parents, his grandson, Chadrick Lee "Skeeter" Gillenwater and sisters, Helen Riley and Beulah Osborne preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Sue Gillenwater, Wise, VA; daughter, Penny Ann Gillenwater, Wise, VA; sons, Jimmy C. Gillenwater and wife, Christie, Coeburn, VA, Danny Ray Gillenwater, Wise, VA, and William Scott Gillenwater and wife, Mary Lou, Wise, VA; grandchildren, James Wesley Gillenwater, Coeburn, VA, Angelina Gillenwater, Coeburn, VA, and Daniel Gillenwater, Wise, VA; great granddaughters, Breana Gillenwater, Norton, VA and Sydney Linkous, Wise, VA; brothers, Clifford Gillenwater, Dungannon, VA and Jim Gillenwater, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Dungannon, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Beavers officiating. Christie Gillenwater will provide the music
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Flanary Cemetery in the Hillstation community of Scott County, VA.. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:30 a.m, to go in procession to the graveside service..
