Geraldine Lane Folden, 77, Nickelsville, VA gained her Heavenly wings, Monday, April 7, 2025, at NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.

Geraldine was born in Hawkins County, TN, on January 29, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Charles Howard and Laura Ellen (Frazier) Lane.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Melvin Ernest Folden; son-in-law, Jeff Lucas; brothers, Glenn, J.D., Billy Ray, Danny Joe, Mike, Ernie, and Gary Lane; sisters, Bea Kilgore, Helen Lyons, Loreen Folden; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Folden, Bobby Cleek, and Homer Cavin preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janice Lucas, Nickelsville, VA, and Deborah Lawson (Stevie), Ft. Blackmore, VA; son, Scott Folden (Jacklyn), Surgoinsville, TN; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Howard Jr. Lane (Anita), Lebanon, IN; sister, Linda Kay Folden, Weber City, VA; brothers-in-law, Ivan Folden, Fall Branch, TN, Harold Folden (Beth), Weber City, VA; sisters-in-law, Ruby Jean Cavin, Gate City, VA, Ruth Cleek, Gate City, VA, Wilma Baker (Jimmy), Ft. Blackmore, VA, Carol Lane, Kingsport, TN, Brenda Lane, Damascus, VA, and Mary Lane, Middletown, ID ; special nephew, Kenny Gambrel; and several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Larry Browder and Jonathan Bear officiating. The Freemans will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2025, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.

Kendall Cleek, Scott Folden, Kenny Gambrel, Steven Lawson, Justin Lucas, and Kevin Quillen will serve as pallbearers. Eugene Baker, Kevin Bennett, David Cleek, Richard Cleek, Travis Horton, Jason Lane, Eli Lawson, Stevie Lawson, and Brady Quillen will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to extend special thanks to a very special niece and mom’s FAVORITE caregiver, Jody Lane-Gibson.
