George Edward Lane, Sr. 93, Jonesborough, TN passed away, Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his residence. 

George was born in Bristol, VA on October 10, 1931, to the late Burl George and Argie Lou Hammonds Lane. 

In addition to his parents, his wife, Helen Lorraine Lane; his brothers, Robert, James (Jim), and William (Bill) Lane preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Garber and Dondi Dolen, Kingsport, TN; son, George Edward (Eddie) Lane, Jr. and wife, Brenda M. Lane , Clover, SC; grandchildren, Waylen L. Garber, Jr. and wife, Nikki J Garber, Brandon L. Garber, Kayla L. Garber, Bryant E. Lane and wife, Carlee Lane, Michael R. Lane and wife, April Lane, Wendi L. Skeens, Rebekah Honaker and husband, Bryan Honaker; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00p.m.-2:30p.m., Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Don Hilton officiating. 

Burial will follow the service at the Adams Cemetery, Scott County, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
