Garry Seaver – Gate City, VA

Garry (Doogie) Hutchins Seaver, 77, Gate City, VA passed away, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Deer Meadows Rehab, Abingdon, VA.

He was born in Bristol VA on December 8, 1946, and was the son of the late Jamie Lyle and Callie (Johnson) Seaver.

Garry was the owner and operator of the Q.S.Q. in Gate City, VA. 

In addition to his parents, his baby brother, Jamie Seaver, Jr., and his father-in-law, Vernon Newland preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Diann (Newland) Seaver, his twin brother, Larry (Pearl) Seaver and wife, Jo Etta, mother-in-law, Lena Newland, sisters-in-law, Sandra Collins and husband, David, Karen Jennings and husband, Tim, his brother-in-law, David Newland and wife, Michelle, nieces and nephews, Amy Collins, Michael Collins, Morgan (Cody) Barlow, Nick (Kaysey) Jennings, and Samuel Newland, and great nieces, Spencer Jennings, and Ezzy Mae Jennings.

The family will receive friends from 12-2p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Walnut Chapel Church, East Carters Valley, Gate City, VA. Services will be conducted at 2:00p.m. with Pastor Samuel Newland and Chaplain RJ Rose officiating.

The burial will follow at Walnut Chapel Cemetery, East Carters Valley Road, Gate City, VA. Brothers-in-law and nephews, Tim Jennings, Nick Jennings, Michael Collins, and Samuel Newland will serve as pallbearers. David Collins, Jim ‘Porky” McConnell, Mike Kerney, and David Newland will serve as honorary pallbearers.
