Freddie Ray Freeman, 65, Ft. Blackmore, VA went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his residence.
Born January 23, 1949 in Phillippi, West Virginia to the late Paul and Dorothy Shaffer Freeman, he moved to Massillon, Ohio at 7 years old. He attended Jackson High School in Massillon and worked several jobs in Ohio. He moved to Virginia in 1982 and worked for Norris Industries and later for Brock.
In addition to his parents, his first wife, Nancy Jane Wilber Freeman; and grandparents, Cody and Hazel Freeman and Viola and Howard Shaffer preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Charlene Freeman, Ft. Blackmore, VA; daughters, Dorothy Dean Johnson and husband, Terry, Erwin, TN and Eliza June Lawson and husband, Tony, Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren, Brittany Leighann Johnson, Terry Zachariah Johnson, Grace Alexandra Lawson, Faith Abigail Lawson, and Noah Abram Lawson; sisters, Kathleen Combs and husband, Jim, Alderson, WVA, Charlotte Ullom and husband, Joseph, Massillon, OH, Diane Boyles and husband, Jack, Raleigh, NC, and Lela Gantz and husband, Richard, Canal Fulton, OH; brother, Keith Freeman and wife, Nancy, Massillon, OH; other survivors, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters of the Lord.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Pendleton’s Chapel Church, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Pendleton’s Chapel Church Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2014 at Carter Cemetery, Stoney Creek Community, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the church to go in procession to the graveside service.
