Mr. Russell E. Frazier, 87, Hiltons, VA passed away, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Frazier was born in Scott County, VA on November 4, 1923, son of the late George and Joann Ringley Frazier. He was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Marrs Frazier in 2007, and three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Frazier is survived by his four daughters, Mildred (Susie) Hensley and husband, Neal, Hiltons, VA, Melissa (Katie) Blair and husband, Charles, Gate City, VA, Barbara (Bobbie) Clark, Hiltons, VA, and Rose Marie Luster and husband, Jeff, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Sammy Hensley and Michelle, Bobby Hensley and Michelle, Scott Blair and Erica, Stevie Hensley and Corey, Kim Wood and Jason, Jason Clark and Vanessa, and Lauren Luster; great grandchildren, Dillon, Austin and Erin Hensley, Toby and Chrystopher Clark, Joey Hensley, Harper Wood, Jake Thomas, Evan Lloyd, and baby Hensley (due in January), and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Riner officiating. Music will be provided by the Bowlin family.
Military Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Marrs Family Cemetery, Hiltons, VA by the American Legion Hammond Post #3 of Kingsport, TN and Post #265 of Gate City, VA and members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard. Sammy Hensley, Bobby Hensley, Scott Blair, Stevie Hensley, Jason Clark, Donald Leonard, David Hensley will serve as pallbearers. Homer Grubb, Kenny Leonard, Donald Fleenor, Jeremiah Harback will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at funeral home at 11:00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
