Lester Eugene Frazier – Gate City, VA
Lester Eugene Frazier, 59, Gate City, VA (Manville Community) gained his angel wings Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at home with his family following an extended illness. Lester was a lifelong resident of Gate City and was of the Baptist faith. He worked at Kingsport Press and retired from Vulcan Materials Company after 35 years of service.
He was born on February 22, 1956 to Harold and Norma Jean Frazier. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Wrightly Rhoton and an infant brother, Clinton Allen Frazier.
Lester was a hard working and loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia Rhoton Frazier, Gate City, VA; daughter, Jamie Bishop and husband, Trevor, Duffield, VA; son, Mark Frazier, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Jacob Darnell and Rhiannon Bishop, Duffield, VA; parents, Harold and Norma Jean Frazier, Blackwater, VA; brother, Rick Frazier and wife, Jeanie, Duffield, VA; sisters, Kathy Miller and husband, Carlos, Blackwater, VA, Patty Greear and husband, Mike, Dungannon, VA; mother-in-law, Lucille Rhoton, Gate City, VA; sister-in-law, Kathy Smith and husband, Dale, Gate City, VA; nephews, Michael Jessee, Justin Smith and wife, Michelle, Arlington, TN, Rusty Smith, Gate City, VA; along with special lifelong friends, George Gibson ,Joe Sanders and Gene Jones.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of his mother-in-law, Lucille Rhoton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Danny Sykes, Brother Justin Smith, and Pastor George Gibson officiating. Music will be provided by Leanna and Haleigh Darnell.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 23, 2015 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Mark Frazier, Jackie Jones, Gene Jones, Rusty Smith, Rick Fansler and Gale Gibson, will serve as pallbearers. Jacob Darnell and Trevor Bishop will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m, Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
