Mr. Carl E. Frazier, 73, Hiltons, VA died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, Monday, January 30, 2012.
Mr. Frazier was born in Kingsport, TN on March 17, 1938 to the late Garney W. Frazier and the late Ruth Culbertson Frazier Leonard.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from A.F.G. Greenland Plant after 38 years of service. One of his greatest joys in his life was farming with his wife.
In addition to his parents, his step father, Joe H. Leonard; sisters, Josephine Frazier and Mary Dell Sumner; his father-in-law, James Calhoun and mother-in-law, Mary Belle Calhoun; and step brother, Gary Lee Leonard preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years and love of his life, Glenna Kaye Calhoun Robinson Frazier, Hiltons, VA; son, Nathan Frazier and wife, Bryson; step son, Billy Robinson, whom he loved like a son; special grandson, Landon Robinson, who he also considered a son; daughter, Renee' Murray and husband, Doug; sons, Patrick Frazier, Stephen Frazier, and Matthew Frazier and wife, Christina; special sisters-in-law, Janice Falin and husband, Benny, and Robin Jessee; sisters, Phyllis Phillips, Margaret Mullins and husband, Larry, and Barbara Noe and husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Aaron, Stephen, Breanna, Bryson, Uriah, and Maxx; step sisters, Vickie Rodefer and husband, Donald, Eda'Mae Brink, Ann Leonard and husband, Johnny, Tootsie Hensley and husband, Marvin; step brothers, Freddie Leonard and Rex Leonard; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a very special great nephew, Blaine Griffith.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Morgan officiating. Way of the Cross Quartet will provide the music.
Military Graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA, assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Matthew Frazier, Bryson Frazier, Billy Robinson, Landon Robinson, Terry Calhoun, Travis Calhoun, Benny Falin, Eddie Noe, Stacy Griffith, and Alan Falin will serve as pallbearers. Bob Neal, J.C. Fraley, James Hobbs, Paul Greer, Joe Steele, Kemp Brice, Pat Barton, Bill Smith, Bob Phillips, Fred Sensabaugh, and Pat Phillips will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
