Joann L. Fraysier – Ft. Blackmore, VA
Joann L. Fraysier, 70, Ft. Blackmore, VA entered into Jesus’ arms on Monday, February 22, 2016 at her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer with her daughters by her side.
Joann was born in Scott County, VA on December 13, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Myrtle Neff Lane.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She attended Peter’s Chapel Church until her declining health prevented her from doing so.
In addition to her husband, Jack Fraysier and her mother, Myrtle Lane; her brothers, Robert L. Lane, Orville h. Lane, Homer E. Lane, Patrick H. Lane, Jr., and Jack Lane preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy F. Donihe and fiance, Don Hughes, Kingsport, TN, Liz Dockery and fiance, Danny Wallen, Ft. Blackmore, VA, and Norma Castle, Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren, Christy Mullins and husband, Chris, Brittany Castle, and Brandon Castle; great grandchildren, Madison Mullins and Mackenzi Mullins; step great grandchild, Caleb Mullins; sister, Angelena “Angie” Fraysier and husband, Ross, Kingsport, TN; brother, Billy R. Lane and wife, Barbara, Weber City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Liz Dockery. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating. James McConnell and Pine Grove Harmony will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Oak Hill Memorial Gardens. Daniel Williams, Don Hughes, Danny Wallen, Dennis Lane, B.A. Clendenin, and Chris Mullins will serve as pallbearers. Roger Lawson, Gary Dockery, and Junior Lane will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Oak Hill Memorial Gardens for the graveside service.
The family would like to thank, Dr. Todd Cassell, her trusted doctor and friend for his love and care of their mom.
