Richard C. Franklin – Hiltons, VA

Richard C. Franklin,76, went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2017 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Sullivan County, TN on June 22, 1941. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and friends and his special dog “DOLLY”.

Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Pasty Franklin; his mother, Josephine Franklin; father, Charles Franklin, and one brother Bobby Franklin.

Mr. Franklin is survived by his daughter, Wanda Blair and husband, Jerry, Gate City, VA; son, Patrick Franklin and wife, Carolyn, Hiltons, VA; daughter, Karen Graham and Hubert Graham, Kingsport, TN; 5 grandchildren, Brandi Blair of Gate City, Tyler Graham of Kingsport, Bailey Franklin of Hiltons, VA, and Travis Franklin of Hiltons, VA, Emilee Hash-Graham of Kingsport; one great granddaughter, Aaisley Graham of Kingsport, TN; his special dog, “DOLLY”; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Evangelist Rex McMurray officiating.

Burial will follow the service; Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Holston view cemetery, Weber City, VA. Louie Linkous, Michael Graham, Larry Blair, Gary Blair, Josh Graham, Paul McConnell, Charlie Franklin, Gavin Ramsey and Roger Mullins.

Family and friends will go in procession to the graveside service.

The family would like to give special thanks to Terry Byrd for helping with Mr. Franklin and being so kind to him. Also, a special thanks to Wellmont ICU and Wilcox Hall for the kindness shown during this time.
