Pasty was born in Scott County, VA on September 23, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Vernie Gibson Smith.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her gentle spirit, loving smile, and kind heart will be remembered by all those who were blessed to know her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her little companion, Dolly, spending time in her flower garden, painting, and making jewelry.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, James, Randy, Doug, Ron, and Lester Smith preceded her in death.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 53 years, Richard Franklin, Hiltons, VA; daughter, Wanda Blair and husband, Jerry, Gate City, VA; son, Patrick Franklin and wife, Carolyn, Hiltons, VA; daughter, Karen Graham and husband, Hubert, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Brandi Blair, Tyler Graham, Bailey Franklin, and Travis Franklin; sisters, Kathy Dishner and husband, Mike, Surgoinsville, TN, Anna Blevins, Hiltons, VA, and Linda Daugherty and husband, Charlie, Blountville, TN; brothers, Johnny Smith and wife, Mary Ann, Kingsport, TN, and Kenneth Smith, OH; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Combs officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Paul McConnell, Charlie Franklin, Josh Graham, Larry Blair, and Michael Graham will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:15 a.m., Saturday to go in procession to the graveside service.
