Franklin S. “Jack” Malone, 87, Kingsport, TN entered heavens gates on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

He served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1963.

He worked for A&L as an insulator and retired after 37 years.

In addition to his parents, John and Della; his brother, Albert; sisters, Joyce and Mary, and his infant son, Homer preceded him in death.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Susie Malone; precious daughters, Kaya Bell and husband, Chas, Kristy Akers and husband, Mike; Diane Gardner; special sister, Dorothy Tuner Maggard; wonderful grandchildren, Che’ka “Punky” Collier and husband, Ryan, Chantae “Sis” Smith and husband, Nick, Krislyn “ Pebbles” Pennington and husband, Hunter, Sarah “Paty “Jones and husband, Jacob; Amazing great-grandchildren , Kyler, Calli, Eli, Jax, Braxton, Paisley, Ella and Berkley.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother William Lawson officiating. Eddie Roberts will provide the music.

Military Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA by members of the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265 of Gate City, VA.

Chas Bell, Nick Smith, Ryan Collier, Mike Akers, Hunter and Krislyn Pennington will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:15am at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service.
