Stuart David Frank, 62, Gate City, VA passed away, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at his residence.

David was born in Scott County, VA on June 12, 1949, the son of the late Jim and Lola Frank. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Iron Workers #384 for 37 years, and a member of Masonic Catlett Lodge #35 A.F. and A.M. of Gate City, VA.

In addition to his parents, his brother, John Charles Frank, and grandparents, Dallie and Jim Frank; and brother-in-law, David Hickman preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lou Gillenwater Frank, Gate City, VA; brother, Jim Frank and wife, Mary Ann, West Point, GA; sisters, Susie Hickman, Belmont, WV, Pat Taylor and husband, W.C., Gate City, VA, Brenda Frank Gilliam and husband, Steve, Gate City, VA, and Caroline Frank Jennings and husband, Robert G. (Buck), Gate City, VA; aunts, Liz Whittington, Charleston, WV, and Patsy Justice, Kingsport, TN; uncle, T.K. Frank, Gate City, VA; brothers-in-law, Carroll Gillenwater and wife, Judy, Gate City, VA, Troy Gillenwater, Weber City, VA, Wayne Gillenwater, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Dallas Gillenwater, Kingsport, TN, Scott Gillenwater, Midway, VA, Roger Gillenwater, Ft. Blackmore, VA; sister-in-law, Shirley Harrington, Midway, VA; special friends, Adam Williams and family, Gate City, VA and Dwayn Williams and family, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be conducted at 6:45 p.m. by Catlett Lodge #35 with funeral services following at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Dwayn Willliams, Rev. Bill Lambert, and Rev. Johnny Duncan officiating. A eulogy will be given by nephew Evan Gilliam and then time given to any of his friends to share any special words about David. The Lee Smith Singers will provide the music.

Military Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA by American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265 of Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army Guard National Guard Honor Guard. Roger Gillenwater, Randy Lyons, Danny Gillenwater, Neil Waterman, Al Hurd, Dennis Winston, Billy Jack Frazier, Charles Wallen, and Allen Gillenwater will serve as pallbearers. J.C. Stewart, James Palmer, Junior Palmer, Harold Frasier, Darrel Gillespie, Jim Lynch, George Bradley, Tim Bray, Dennis Bray, Wayne Smith, Steve Kirkland, and co workers in the construction business he worked with will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m., Saturday to go in procession to the graveside service.
