James Francisco – Nickelsville, VA
James Edward Francisco, Jr., 79, passed away, Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Mr. Francisco was born in Scott County, VA on September 20, 1935. He was the son of the late James Edward, Sr. and Ethel Fugate Francisco.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, was retired from Quebecor after 27 years of service, and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his brother, William Lewis Francisco preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Zola Amos Francisco, Nickelsville, VA; daughters, Donna Gail Francisco Rudder and husband, Richard, Dungannon, VA and Audra Francisco Falin and husband, Jeffery, Nickelsville, VA; son, Jeffrey Quin Francisco and wife, Dawn, Nickelsville, VA; grandchildren, Amanda Rudder Roberts, Ivy Rudder, and Tucker Falin; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Roberts and Avery Cordle; sister, Dorothy Francisco Kilgore, Nickelsville, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Daryle Houseright and Rev. Travis Stapleton officiating. Greg and Becky White and David and Debbie Easterling will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Francisco Family Cemetery in the Big Moccasin community. Bagpipe music provided by James Cruthers. Jeff Weddle, Tucker Falin, Jeremy Herron, Gary Dougherty, Jeff Francisco, Tim Amos, and Bobby Bays will serve as pallbearers. Jeff Falin, Mitch Dougherty, Bill Counts, Carl Smith, Darrell McConnell, Sammy Gillenwater, and all the rest of his special friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m., Tuesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
