Richard Wayne Folden, 61 of Weber City, VA, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at his residence after a bout with Leukemia.
Richard was born in Scott Count, VA on April, 27, 1954, to the late Ralph Folden and Vivian Folden.
He was of the Baptist faith and attended the Heritage Baptist Church in Hiltons, VA.
Mr. Folden is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Lane Folden, Weber City, VA; mother, Vivian Folden, Weber City, VA; daughters, Anita Taylor and husband, Kelly, Weber City, VA, Jennifer Miller and husband, Bo, Hiltons, VA; sisters, Ruby Jean Cavin and husband, Homer, Gate City, VA, Ruth Cleek, Gate City, VA, Wilma Baker and husband, Jimmy, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Frances Shupe, Kingsport, TN; brothers, Ernest “Hoss” Folden and wife, Geraldine, Bloomingdale, TN, Ivan Folden and wife, Loreen, Fall Branch, TN, Harold Folden and wife, Beth, Lebanon, IN; grandchildren, Katelyn Taylor, MaKenna Miller and Jordan Miller, along with a very special great great nephew, Braxton Wayne and several more nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 with Pastor Larry Browder officiating. Dustin Huffman and Loretta McMurray will provide the music.
Burial will follow the funeral service at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City VA. Scott Folden, Richard Cleek, David Cleek, Kendall Cleek, Timmy Estep, Lynn Estep, Curtis Gambrel and Kenny Gambrel will serve as pallbearers. The men of Heritage Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
