Reba Kate Rhoton Flanary, 82 of Alma, Michigan passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Masonic Pathways home in Michigan.

Mrs. Flanary was born in Rye Cove, VA to the late Charlie and Nannie Elsie Carter Rhoton. Mrs. Flanary’s husband served in the U. S. Navy post World War II. Mr. and Mrs. Flanary moved to Detroit, Michigan where Mr. Flanary was employed by General Motors Corporation. Mr. Flanary was a 32 Degree Mason and was a member of the Mason’s for over 50 years. Mrs. Flanary was a member of the Victoria Chapter, of the Eastern Star Masonic Group in Michigan for over 50 years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flanary was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Gentry Flanary;

She is survived by her 2 older sisters, Irene Lawhorne and Hazel Epperson; three daughters, Deborah Wellman and husband Greg, Brighton, Michigan, Jenny Salsini and husband Bob, Metamora, Michigan, Lisa Gamble, Westland Michigan; three grandchildren, Scott Hathorne, Emily MacFarlane, Lindsay Gamble; four great grandsons, Nicholas and Jacob Hathorne, Andrew and Joseph Breeding, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home with funeral service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Carter Cemetery in Stoney Creek, Va. Family and friends are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
