Lucy Flanary – Stoney Creek, VA
Mrs. Lucy Flanary, 91, Stoney Creek community of Scott County, VA passed away, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Flanary was born in Scott County, VA on January 10, 1920, daughter of the late Milligan and Hannah Elizabeth Culbertson Starnes, and was a member of Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Robert Blain Flanary; son, Damon Flanary; sisters, Maxie Dezarn, Kayla Alley, Callie Reese Falin; and brother, Fred Starnes.
Surviving is her daughter, Dana Flanary, Coeburn, VA; son, Don Flanary, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Rachael Lane, Stephanie Flanary, and Summer Flanary; great grandchildren, Steven, Leslie Ann, and Zaine; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating. Music will be provided by Dorothy Hicks.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Flanary Family Cemetery, Stoney Creek community.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
