Hobert "Hoby" Flanary, Jr.

Hobert "Hoby" Flanary, Jr., entered into rest Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Scott County, VA to the late Hobert Flanary Sr., and Stella Lee Summey Flanary. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joann Lucas and two brothers, Lonnie and James Flanary.
Hoby enjoyed collecting marbles, toy cars and also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include three sisters, Betty Vicars, Dungannon, VA, Frankie Cordle, Nickelsville, VA and Georgie Flanary, Dungannon, VA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. L.W. "Red" Salling and Rev. Danny Darnell officiating. Music will be provided by the Lee Smith Singers.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Carter Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Delbert Porter, Freddie Cordle, Kevin Flanary, Christopher Cordle, Stevie Lucas and Shaun Cordle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Cordle, Coy Hall and Ronnie Lucas.
Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Flanary family.
