Betty Jo Fields – Kingsport, TN
Betty Jo Fields, 79, Kingsport, TN and formerly of Gate City, VA passed away, Monday, September 28, 2015 at Wexford House.
Betty Jo was born in Scott County, VA on May 29, 1936. She was the daughter of the late James Walker and Amly Sluss Lane.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, Willie Lane, Ernest C. Lane, and Elmer Lane preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Fields, Kingsport, TN; daughter, Sherry R. Olmo and husband, Willy, Chesapeake, VA; son Jerry Shane Fields, Kingsport, TN; brother, R.B. Lane and wife, Laura Kate, Weber City, VA; grandkids, Kyle Fields and Abbey Fields, Kingsport, TN; step grandkids, William C. Olmo, Galax, VA and Megan Knight, New York; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor David Begley and Rick Begley officiating. Rick Begley will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11: 00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Carter Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Phillip Lane, Michael Lane, Kyle Fields, Barnie Fields, Willy Olmo, and Timmy Begley will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family would like to thank Dr. Steve Adkins, the HMG Doctors and P.A.s, and the staff of Wexford House for their love and care of Betty Jo.
