Wadell Falin, 87, Kingsport, TN passed away, Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Indiana on December 4, 1925 to the late LeRoy and Maxie Falin.
He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from the Tennessee Eastman with 37 years of service.
He was known as a giving man to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, his first wife, Hassie Herron Falin, and sisters, Jean Johnson and Patricia Bloomer preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Falin, Kingsport, TN; son, Steve Falin and wife, Debbie, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Mike and Melissa, both of Kingsport, TN; great grandson, Cody Falin; brothers, Norman Falin and wife, Gladys, Kingsport, TN, Wallace Falin, Gray, TN, Roy Robinette, Valley, VA, and Nell Poundry, Tusciumbia, AL; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Hammonds officiating.
Military graveside services will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a charity of ones choice in the name of Wadell Falin.
