Ella Gertrude Falin, 96, Gate City, VA went home peacefully to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 07, 2013 at her son's residence in Kingsport, TN.
Ella was born in Scott County, VA on June 3, 1917 to the late William Bill and Martha Alice Falin.
Ella was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed volunteer work for the local nursing homes. She took great pride in being a mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
In Addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 6 brothers, grandson, Wendell Bruce Pierson and her great grandson, Bradley Pierson.
Surviving is her daughter, Anna Pierson, Duffield, VA; son, Gary Wayne Falin and wife, Brenda, Kingsport, TN; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Mike Stout officiating. Kenneth Davis will provide the music.
Graveside services will follow the funeral, Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Falin Family Cemetery in the Sloantown Community of Scott County, VA. Grandkids and Great Grandkids will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Eastridge and Smokey Mountain Hospice for their care of Ella.
