Lovely Mae Enix, age 94, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the caring and loving home of her daughter after an extended illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Scott County, VA and will be remembered for her gentle spirit, strong faith, love, and kindness.
Left to honor Lovely Mae and remember her love are her four children; daughter, and son-in-law, Phyllis and David Haulsee of Knoxville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Teresa Enix of Haymarket, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Peytona and Robert Carper of Alpharetta, GA; and son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Mitzi Enix of Blountville, TN; four grandchildren; granddaughter, Nicole Waters and husband, Jeffery of Knoxville, TN; granddaughter, Anthea LaPorte and husband, Michael of Gainesville, VA; and grandsons, Zachary and Noah Enix of Blountville, TN; two great granddaughters, Michelle Waters and Devon Vickery of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Nancy Lee Deskins of Rockford, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peyton Enix; her parents, Robert and Pearl Mae Alley; and her great grandparents, Crate and Peggy Salling.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. John Stuart of Knoxville, TN officiating. Viola music will be provided by her great granddaughter, Michelle Waters.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in the Enix Family Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the charity of your choice.
