Emmett Lynn Vanzant – Duffield, VA

Emmett Lynn Vanzant, 71, Duffield, VA, passed away, Sunday, November 12, 2023, at his residence.

Emmett was born on October 12, 1952, in Sullivan County, TN, to the late Emmett Parkie Vanzant, and Hazel Anna (England) Vanzant.

Emmett was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, and a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 979, and Honor Guard.

Along with his parents, his wife, Cheri Vanzant preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Allison Vanzant (Matt Knight), Austin, TX; best friend, Randy Young (Nancy), Austin, TX; sister, Patricia Williams (Mike), Rogersville, TN; brother, Samuel Vanzant, Duffield, VA; grandchildren, Brodie Sparks, Gannon Knight; and several nieces, nephews, many friends, and customers.

A celebration of life will be conducted from 5-6p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 6:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home, with Pastor Keith Sutherland officiating.

Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN, Post #265, Gate City, VA, National Guard Honors Team.
