Delmar Ellis Egan, 74, Bristol, VA passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Wythe County Community Hospital, Wytheville, VA.
Delmar was born in Scott, Co. on December 13, 1942 to the late Walter Scott and Mabel Lee (Stanley) Egan.
In addition to his parents, his son, Travis Dale Egan preceded him in death.
Delmar is survived by his wife, Martha (Wolfenbarger) Egan of the home; son, Cody Egan and wife, Samantha, Blountville, TN; grandson, Eric Egan; sisters, Shirley Kiser and husband, Jimmy, Kingsport, TN and Barbara Kilgore, Kingsport, TN; brother, Ronnie Egan and wife, Sharon, Fayetteville, NC; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Ray Dockery officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Carter Cemetery, Rye Cove, VA by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA, assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Honor Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
