Glenda Gale East, 74, Elizabethton, TN, and formerly of California passed away, Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at The Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
Gale was born in Scott County, VA on May 2, 1943 and was the daughter of the late James Connard East and Myrtle (Blankenbeckler) East.
She left Scott County at an early age to pursue a career in Hollywood, CA. She was successful in her endeavor and had a lengthy career with Walt Disney, CBS, and numerous other companies as a makeup artist.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Frances (Frank) McConnell, Jo Bishop, Jean Redwine, Jeanette (Net) King; brothers, Wesley (Wes) East and James (Butch) East preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sisters, Darlene Chambers, Elizabethton, TN, Barbara Hargrove, IN, and Gladys (Joy) Hardee, FL; along with several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2018 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Kingsport, TN with Jack Tester officiating. Danny Bishop, J.R. East, Scott Lemmons, Jonathan Vanover, Micky Campbell and Roger Campbell will serve as pallbearers. Russ Torres, Junior (Junebug) Torres, Maria Torres, and Roger McConnell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
