Reba Lee (Miller) Duncan, 82, Duffield, VA passed away, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.
Reba was born in Scott County, VA on September 20, 1935 to the late Walter Kenneth and Virgie Virginia (Maness) Miller.
In addition to her parents, her grandchildren Cody and Joshua Duncan and Jennifer Duncan; son-in-law, David Gilliam, sisters, Elizabeth Tipton and Evelyn Williams; brothers, Jerry Miller, Jimmy Miller and an infant brother preceded her in death.
Reba was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt to her blessed family. She loved her family and friends dearly and always gave a loving hug to everyone she met. She loved working in the garden and with her flowers. She was always up early canning and cooking, so all could eat. She was a friend to many and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Delmar Eugene “Gene” Duncan, Duffield, VA; daughters, Debbie Gilliam, Kingsport, TN, Peggy Sloan and husband Charles II, Duffield, VA; sons, Delmar Duncan, Jr. and wife Denise, Hiltons, VA, Larry Duncan and wife Theresa, Duffield, VA, Bobby Duncan and wife Melissa, Rye Cove, VA, Anthony “Scott” Duncan and wife Angel, Johnson City, TN; sisters, Helen Bowen, Duffield, VA, Peggy Jones, Greeneville, TN; brothers, Johnny Miller, Bluff City, TN, Ken Miller and wife Marie, Greeneville, TN; grandchildren, John Gilliam, Tonya Taylor, Matthew Cape, Jasmine Shoul, Matthew Duncan, Charles Sloan III, Major Duncan, Victor Sloan, Chance Duncan, Holly Sloan, Mackenzie LeBlanc, Shanee Duncan, Khloe Duncan; step-grandchildren, Lee Davis and Gabriel Douglas; 8 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the home place on Waters Edge Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Harold Shoemaker officiating and Larry Duncan presenting a eulogy in his mother’s honor.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the graveside service.
