Mr. Ralph Leonard Duncan, 89, Gate City, VA passed away, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Duncan was born in Scott County, VA on July 29, 1923 to the late Charles H. and Alba Cox Duncan.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Mead.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Clarice Quillen Duncan and his sister, Lois Duncan preceded him in death.
He is survived by his first cousin, Beulah Faye Fields, Stanleytown, VA and second cousins, Tim, Terry, Myron, and Mark Fields; special friend, Marteen Thomasson, Kingsport, TN and his caregivers, Rick and Freda Darnell, Gate City, VA and Patricia Bloomer, Rye Cove, VA.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Kermit Lane.
Military graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard. Tim Fields, Terry Fields, Myron Fields, Mark Fields, Billy Williams, Stan Presley, and Doug Presley will serve as pallbearers.
