Dorothy (Miller) Tipton – Gate City, VA

Dorothy (Miller) Tipton, 94, Gate City, VA passed away, Friday, October 27, 2023, at NHC, Kingsport, TN.

Dorothy was born in Clinchport, VA on May 26, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Worley Thomas and Suda (Taylor) Miller.

She was a member of Kaylor’s Chapel Church.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Claude Cecil Tipton (2013), sisters, Joyce Edwards, Mabel Clendenin, Reba Dishner, brothers, Luther Miller, R.J. Miller, Ray Miller, Cellus Miller, grandson, Brian Barnette preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Kathy Burke and husband, Bobby, Gate City, VA, Vanessa Judalena and wife Tiffany, Newport News, VA, and Gregory Phil “Buck” Tipton and wife, Brenda, Church Hill, TN, grandchildren, Kristi Burke, Brian Burke, and wife Amber, Brent Polly, as well as numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Ray Dockery officiating. Graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
