Donald Ray Burke, 82, Sullivan County, TN, went home to be with his lord, Thursday, April 7, 2023.  
Donald was born in Scott County, VA on May 10, 1940, to the late Emitt Lee Burke Sr. and Alba Estelle (Hartsock) Burke Sr.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Kingsport, TN.
In addition to his parents, his wife Peggy Jean Burke; brother, Emmitt “Chub” Burke Jr.; sister, Nell Nickels and husband Ben preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Jean Taylor (Eddie); two granddaughters, Meagan Potts, and Holly Hall; four great grandchildren, Avery Gillenwater, Brayden Dockery, Miley Potts, and Gabriella Hall; brothers Billy Burke (Helen), Jimmy Burke (Roseanne), and Ricky Burke (Sue); along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Perry Stukey and Donnie Archer officiating. David and Debbie Easterling will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Hartsock Cemetery in Nickelsville, VA. Family and Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
