Peggy Jean Dockery, 65, Ft. Blackmore, VA was called Home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2016
at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Peggy was born in Scott County, VA on May 21, 1950. She was the daughter of the late William Robert Snavely and Sarah Ellen Dockery Snavely. She was employed by Tempur Pedic as a production supervisor and also worked for many years as a production manager with Norris Industries.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Donnie Lee Dockery; brother, Ray Snavely; infant sister, Gladys Jerlene Snavely and infant brother, William Junior Snavely preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Robert Lee “Robbie” Dockery, Ft. Blackmore, VA; daughter, Eleanor Lynn Snavely, Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren, Brayden Lee Dockery, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Sarah Jo Mann, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Beaulah Kern and husband, Henry, Duffield, VA and Anna Haskins and husband, Don, Gilbert, AZ; brothers, James W “Jay” Snavely and wife, Carolyn, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Paul Snavely and wife, Tina, Rye Cove, VA, and Garnie Snavely, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Peggy’s residence on Wednesday evening, April 13, 2016 and at Gate City Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Daryl Hurd, Brother Roger Herron, and Brother James Snavely officiating. Marvin and Susie Leonard and Patsy Hensley will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at the Cowden Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA with Brother Garnie Snavely officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
