II Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith"
Kermit Darrell Dockery Dungannon, VA – Kermit Darrell Dockery, 69, entered into rest Monday, April 13, 2009 at his residence.
He was born August 4, 1939 in Scott County, VA to the late Warner Dockery and Maude Hensley Dockery.
Darrell (Daddy) has fought a very long battle for several years, never gave up the fight. He kept his faith in the Lord until the end and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met. He loved his family more than anything in the world. He loved to play his guitar and sing, not only at church but at home as well. His favorite song was "I've got so much to thank him for"; thankful for everyday he had even though he knew they were numbered. He always worried about everyone else but himself. He loved the outdoors and to work in the garden and mow. He just recently said he wanted to go fishing so bad he couldn't stand it. He loved his grandbabies too, always worried about his little blue jay, Emma and Addison and his Brook hook too. He loved his wife of 45 years, Vivian, dearly, he wanted her near his side, just knowing she was there was a comfort. His children Jeremy and Lisa always had a very special place in his heart. He always worried about Lisa and would watch out the door to see if he could see her or the babies. Travis was special to him as well, he was like a son. He always picked up the phone and called his loving sister, Roxie every day. They had a great love for one another.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister. Darrell was a lifelong resident of Scott County, VA.
