Elmer Howard Dockery – Nickelsville, VA
Elmer Howard Dockery, 91, Nickelsville, VA went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 19, 2022, at his residence.
Elmer was born in Scott County, VA on November 11, 1930, to the late Robert and Monnie (Moore) Dockery.
He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a lifelong farmer and gardener, and always had time to stop and talk.
Along with his parents, his wife, Brenda Karen Dockery; daughters, Brenda Kaye Dockery, and Janet Dockery Carter; sister Dorothy Mullins; and brothers John, Elbert, and Fred Dockery preceded him in death.
Surviving is his daughter Suzanne (Milo) Hill; granddaughter, Hannah Grace Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the Nickelsville Cemetery, in Nickelsville, VA, with Rev. G.W. White officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:45a.m., Tuesday for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
