Danny Dockery – Ft. Blackmore, VA
James “Danny” Dockery, 60, Ft. Blackmore, VA entered into rest Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord and was always showing his love to others. He loved going to church, spending time with family and friends, also enjoyed hunting.
Danny lived his entire life in Scott County, VA.
Born in Sullivan County, TN on March 18, 1961, he was the son of the late James Lonnie and Maxie Lea (Gibson) Dockery.
Surviving is his loving wife, Patsy Dockery; son, James “J.R.” (Brandy) Dockery; grandsons, Branson, Carter, and Anthony; sister, Patty (Michael) Taylor; brothers, Sam (Cindy) Dockery, and Tommy (Teresa) Dockery; five nieces, Kourtney, Abbie, Karen, Kim and Renea; three nephews, Mark, Hunter, and Logan; and one great-niece, Gracelyn.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Gate City Funeral Home and any other time at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Robbie Dockery and Wayne Sanders officiating. Eddie Roberts, David and Debbie Easterling will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at the Taylor Family Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
