Mr. Dockery was born in Scott County, VA on February 2, 1947 to the late Brown Logan and Mattie Hensley Dockery.
He is survived by his sons, Sean Conley Dockery, Sr., Ravenna, OH and Brian James Dockery, Gilbert, AZ; brothers and sisters, Coleen Kinkead, Ft. Blackmore, VA, James Dockery, Gate City, VA, Kate Gibson, Gate City, VA, Valice Perry, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Henry and Verdie Lawson, Gate City, VA, Donnie Dockery and Peggy, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Ronnie Dockery, Gate City, VA, Larry Dockery and Margaret, Nickelsville, VA, Howard Dockery, Gate City, VA, Dave Dockery, Gate City, VA, Connie Dockery, Ft. Blackmore, VA, B.L. Junior Dockery, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Sean Dockery, Jr., Ravenna, OH and Emma Grace Dockery, Ravenna, OH; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. George Gibson and Rev. Roger Herron officiating. The Alley Valley Choir will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Lawson Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Ronnie Dockery, B.L. Dockery, Jr., Gale Gibson, Sean Dockery, Jr., Garnie Snavely, Robbie Dockery. Donnie Dockery and Connie Dockery will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
