Mrs. Marie Esther Dishner, 95, Duffield, VA passed away, Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Dishner was born in Scott County, VA on January 16, 1915, a daughter of the late William Bishop and Maggie Pannell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Pat Dishner; sisters, Beatrice Bowen, Bertha Peterson, and Eva Reynolds; brothers, Genard Bishop and William D. Bishop; daughter-in-law, Rose Helen Dishner, and a son-in-law, Everett Driver.
Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Irene Akers and husband, Otis, Duffield, VA, and Mildred Driver, IN; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennie Dishner, Duffield, VA, Charles Dishner and wife, Judy, AL, and Kenneth Dishner and wife, Jackie, Duffield, VA; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Garry Hood and Evangelist David Dillon officiating. The Grit Hill Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Carter McKinney Cemetery in the Pattonsville community of Duffield, VA. Grandsons and Great Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will be meeting at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
