Claude Dishner - Simpsonville, SC
Claude Dishner, 84, of Simpsonville, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 27, 2019 at 12:40 pm at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC.
Claude was born to Reba (Miller) and Jamie Dishner on July 26, 1934 in Clinchport, VA. He graduated from Rye Cove High School in Clinchport, VA in 1953. A life-long learner, he received numerous technical certifications from various vocational schools and colleges. He retired from Michelin Tire Corporation in Greenville, SC, after 20 years of dedicated service. Known to friends and family as a man of many talents and a Jack-of-all trades, Claude enjoyed painting with oils and watercolors, woodworking, fly-fishing, and building. He had a wide variety of interests, eager for knowledge, and restless to learn new things. He travelled with his wife Ginsey, RV camping in South Carolina and in their beloved Southwestern Virginia.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother Bruce Dishner. Surviving siblings include J.C. Dishner of Kingsport, TN, Shirley Babb (James) of Kingsport, TN, and David Dishner (Georgia) of Hiltons, VA. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ginsey Giles Dishner of Simpsonville, SC and son, Jeff Dishner, of Greenville SC, three grandchildren, Catherine, Elizabeth, and Bowen Dishner.
The family will receive visitors at Heritage Funeral Home in Simpsonville, SC on Friday, March 1 from 6:00 until 7:00 pm and at Gate City Funeral Home in Gate City, VA on Saturday, March 2, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at the Fraley Family Cemetery in Duffield, near Pattonsville, VA Sunday at 1:00 pm.
