Nellie Davidson Dingus, 77, Gate City, VA passed away, Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.
Mrs. Dingus was born in Scott County, VA on July 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Cornelius and Ora Belle Baldwin Davidson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Dingus; and brothers, Roy and Bob Davidson.
Surviving is her daughter, Donna Sue Dingus, a resident of Mountain Connections, Inc., Weber City, VA; sisters, Callie McLemore and husband, David, Kingsport, TN, Kate Nelms, Kingsport, TN, and Mary Davidson, Kingsport, TN; brothers, Charlie Davidson, Alley Valley, VA and Earl Davidson and wife, Nancy, Alley Valley, VA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with M.A. Lunsford and Judy Kilgore officiating. Eric and LuAnn McMurray will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Kimbler Cemetery in Kimblertown in the Alley Valley community of Scott County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
