Nickelsville, VA ? Mabel Beatrice Dingus, 89, entered into rest January 19, 2009 at the Wexford House.
She was born in Wise, VA July 18, 1919 to the late Harry Garland and Rosa Nolan Lawson. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Issaac Wayland Dingus; granddaughter, Becky Marshall; one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Bobby Marshall, Nickelsville, VA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Bea Dingus, Nickelsville, VA, Larry and Betty Dingus, Fredericksburg, VA; brothers, Tommy Lawson, Castlewood, VA; grandson, Justin Dingus; granddaughter, Michelle and husband, Travis Roach; two great grandsons, Travis Lee and Daniel Roach; one great granddaughter, Jessica Willingham; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her son, Wayne Dingus or her daughter, Joyce Marshall, both of Nickelsville, VA.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Henry Meade officiating. Music will be provided by the Lee Smith Singers.
Burial will follow the service at Temple Hill Memorial Gardens, Castlewood, VA.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Joe Meade, Dr. DeMotts, Glenn Lawson and Bobby Dingus will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family wishes to extend thanks and appreciation to Dr. DeMotts and staff, staff of the Wexford House and the Whitson family.
