Lucinda G. Dingus, 73, Dungannon, VA passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at her residence.
She was born in Scott County, VA on July 16, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Townsel (Towns) and Onie Jane Greear.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Minton and brother in law, Billy Minton, Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Dingus, Dungannon, VA; a very special nephew, Bill Minton, Kingsport, TN; sister in laws, Norma Sturgill, Gate City, VA and Sue Wallen and husband, Bill, Duffield, VA; brother in laws, Eugene Dingus, Kingsport, TN; 2 special cousins, Freda Warren and Shelby Reed; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks to Sam Brickey and church family, Shirley and James Lane, and Bo and Lula Howington. She is a lifelong member of Cassells Chapel Church in Dungannon, VA.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Joe Roberts, Sam Brickey and Dale Hall officiating. Durhams Chapel Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Sam Brickey, Dale Hall, William “Bo” Howington, Thomas Rose, George Hensley and Steve Carter will serve as pallbearers. James Lane, Kenny Dingus, Bill Wallen, Doug Presley and Stan Presley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
