Dickie Ray Gillenwater

Dickie Ray Gillenwater, 70, of Kingsport, TN, departed this life for a Heavenly life on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

Dickie was born on July 21, 1954, in Sullivan County, TN, to the late Broadus Gillenwater, and Maude Bishop Gillenwater. 

He retired from A & L after 45 years of hard work and service. He was a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jeff Gordon for many years. 

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Broadus and Maude Gillenwater. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Jason Gillenwater from Kingsport, TN, and Brian Gillenwater (Tara) from Chatsworth, GA. Dickie also leaves behind three grandsons, Brysen Gillenwater, Brantley Gillenwater, and Jaxon Gillenwater; two loving sisters, Faye Vaughn from Duffield, VA, and Phyllis Giles (Billy) from Gate City, VA, and one brother, Larry Gillenwater, from Mt. Carmel, TN. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Gillenwater Cemetery, Fort Blackmore, VA, with Riley Boy officiating. 

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45a.m., for the graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
