Delmis “Modie” Elmore Keith – Nickelsville, VA

Delmis “Modie” Elmore Keith, 78, Nickelsville, VA, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Modie was born in Russell County, VA, on August 13, 1944, to the late Joe Denby Keith and Eliza (Salyer) Keith.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Barbara Keith and several sisters and brothers preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Dorothy (Tim) Vicars, Abingdon, VA; sister, Mary Hawkins, Castlewood, VA; grandchildren, Hunter Chase Meade (Courtney), Nickelsville, VA; special friends and caregivers, D.C., and Mary Hess; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Grassy Creek Cemetery, Castlewood, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:30p.m. for the service.

Anthony Farmer, Billy Byington, Jerry “Flip” Vicars, Lowell Hammonds, Larry Hartsock, and Darrell Meade will serve as pallbearers. Jarvis Vicars, Wayne Meade, D.C. Hess, and Ike Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the 3^rd floor doctors and nurses of Bristol Regional Medical Center, and the Staff of Encompass Rehab of Bristol, VA.
