Kingsport, TN ? Noah Dean, 106, entered into rest Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Scott County, VA May 9, 1902 to the late Henderson Dean and Alley Dean.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his three daughters and son-in-law, Emma Fields, Kingsport, TN, Shirley and Charles Smith, Rogersville, TN, Ebbie Skeens, Rogersville, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Arvil and Lena Dean, Eaton, OH, Worley and Mary Dean, Cincinnati, OH, Dennis and Ellen Dean, Church Hill, TN, R.D and Cathy Dean, Kingsport, TN; sister, Nannie Kate Dean, Nickelsville, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie Bill and May Dean, Nickelsville, VA; 63 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of his son, R.D. Dean. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Arvil Dean officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Dean Family Cemetery, Dean Hollow, Nickelsville Community. The family will meet at 10 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Fields, Johnny Fields, James Dean, Daniel Dean, Christopher Dean, Danner Skeens, Charles Smith and Michael Hensley.
