Ethel Kate Dean, 64, Weber City, VA passed away, Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Brian Center, Weber City, VA.
Ms. Dean was born in Scott County, VA on February 4, 1947to the late Charlie Castle and the late Minnie Ruth Dean.
Ms. Dean was employed with Burgers R. Us for the past 12 years and was still working at the time of her sickness. The family would like to thank the employees, customers, and management at Burgers R. Us for their kindness and being like family to her for so many years.
In addition to her parents, her brother, Joe Martin Castle preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Parks, Nickelsville, VA; son, David Wayne Dean and wife, Jane, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Brandy Dean, David S. Dean, Kendra Parks, and Sean Parks; great grandchildren, Ty Parks, J.D. Arnold, Eli Huss, and Gabrielle Hunt; sisters, Helen Dean and husband, Carlos, Nickelsville, VA and Caroline Cassell and husband, Donald, Nickelsville, VA; brothers, James Castle and wife, Donna, Kingsport, TN and John Castle and wife, Renee, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Hunley and the Rev. Bob Underwood officiating. Doyle and Shirley Castle will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Dean Family Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
